Overview
You may face the issue where you are receiving the below error on all sites created with the template NewsGator Internal Communication Administration:
"The control type 'NewsGator.CorpComm.Core.WebParts.AdminConsole.NavigationWebPart' is not allowed on this page. The type NewsGator.CorpComm.Core.WebParts.AdminConsole.NavigationWebPart, NewsGator.CorpComm.Core, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=4ec65f4d77045582 could not be found or it is not registered as safe."
This issue started to occur after a patch install on Sharepoint 2013 and you are using NewsGator version 5.x.

This issue is characterized by the following error in the ULS logs which contain the attempt to create the site with the template and the moment you see the error:
Failed to create a control from assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=16.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c', class 'Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.SuiteNavControl': Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.SharePoint, Version=16.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
This error is not a NewsGator defect, it's due to a solution which only works with Sharepoint 2016 being deployed on the Sharepoint 2013 farms.
To solve this issue, you need to retract then remove that solution. Kindly follow the steps listed here. Or you can alternatively Rollback the patches recently applied.
Additionally, it is highly recommended that you upgrade your NewsGator release to the most current one, 7.1.5 which is available on the Release Portal, in order to avoid future issues due to newer patches being applied in your environment. Refer to the Aurea Social Version 7.1.5 article.
